Thank you for the rainbows
All the days feel different now
with no school or friends to play
no family come and visit you
why must they stay away?
You’re missing Grandma’s kisses
and her soft and warm embrace
you’re missing Grandad’s silly jokes
and his smiley, happy face.
Yet the sun still shines so bright outside
the birds still sing their song
Spring is flowering all around
while you stay home all day long
Then you hear about the rainbows
and the teddies out on display
just a little bit of cheerfulness
that brings hope each passing day
You draw your rainbows beautifully
and proudly put them on the glass
on all the windows of your home
to be enjoyed by those who pass
Your chosen teddies sit and look
to make who see them smile
such a simple touch of kindness
to ease their worries for a while
So although you’re missing normal life
your friends and family too
please know your rainbows mean so much
so we want to say thank you
